Vidas is an Italian association that offers free health service to terminally ill people at their houses or at the hospice Casa Vidas.
In over 30 years, Vidas have helped 28.000 patients (up to 150 per day) in Milan area thanks to doctors, nurses, care workers, social workers, psychologists and a lot of prepared and motivated volunteers. In a year, Vidas helps 1600 patients: this is the widest average for this type of service in Europe.
The hospice “Casa Vidas”, opened in 2006, guarantees help freely to the people who lives alone or who can’t afford the expenses to be cured.
Moreover, Vidas organises a lot of cultural activities (meetings, conferences and conventions) to let people know about its activities: this to give more dignity and help to ill people.
